Other forms: One wants to read βλαδύς Hp. Aër. 20; perhaps βλαδαρὸς `bottle' Gal. 19, 88.
Origin: XX [etym. unknown]
Etymology: Mostly just noted βλαδύς (but the form is quite doubtful) and equated with Skt. mr̥dú-, Lat. mollis; further connected with ἀμαλδύνω (which is hardly possible); Debrunner IF 60, 324. All quite uncertain.
